Got a new Asus (DSL-AC52U) router and Pi W does not connect anymore

Sat Feb 02, 2019 2:12 pm

I have a few headless Pi 3 B+ and a few headless Pi W that all connect to my home WiFi with no problem. They all have the same image (2018-06-27-raspbian-stretch.img) and some times even the SD cards are swapped between 3B+ and W.
I recently upgraded my router to Asus DSL-AC52U.
Removed the old one, setup the same SSID and pass (maybe different channel?) with WPA2-Personal (with AES) and then booted all my Pi.

I now have a strange problem. All my Pi 3 B+ connect fine with no modification needed. None of my Pi W connect.
Any idea where to look first?

Is your Wifi set to 5GHz and 2.4GHz ?

Thought of that and tried either alone and both together. Nothing changed. I am now on 2.4 only.
FYI

Code: Select all

cat /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf
ctrl_interface=DIR=/var/run/wpa_supplicant GROUP=netdev
update_config=1

network={
        ssid="MYSSID"
        psk="xxx"
#       scan_ssid=1
}
I have also tried with and without country code in the wpa_supplicant.conf with no success.
I have also temporarily turned Asus off and used my old router and all Pis work fine.
