Hi all,

situation as follows: raspberry pi broke in half (no comment), now trying to fsck or reformat the card and it's read-only:

fdisk: cannot open /dev/mmcblk0: Read-only file system

device notifier shows three partitions, /root, /boot, and /SETTINGS

trying to check /boot partition on the card - the only one I can mount, gives that:

fsck.vfat /dev/mmcblk0p6
fsck.fat 4.1
open: Read-only file system

What to do?

Buy another one, it's dead.

Right, could you elaborate, please?
I'm not an expert on those things so it puzzles me how come I can see the partitions, even open one of them and see the files and the card is broken?
I can see the /boot partition (vfat I guess)

SD cards can go into a read-only mode at end-of-life

So you'll need a new card

When that Pi broke in half (...), the SD lost power at the wrong moment or received some other injury, and it went into degraded mode.

Thanks for that explanation. Tough luck.
