Setting up shared windows folders on Raspberry pi 3 w Kodi

Sat Oct 06, 2018 10:18 am

guys,

I'm struggling a bit here and need some help, a month ago i managed to share and link two folders from my windows 7 64bit OS to RP Kodi. I dont recall having to enter in a user name and password, but now i do. Nothing on my pc ever has a password.

I have a bit of a beginner to all of this and hoping im missing something easy. When both pc's are on i can access the pi on my windows 7 pc and look at all the files, is there a way that i can see how the successful shared folders were set up? ie user name and password? if seems to have recorded some by they are the failed ventures following.

I dont know if it is because im using windows 7 professional, which has done some buggy stuff before with the homegroup (cannot set one up etc), and whilst using the pi it says it cannot connect to the SMB, so only option is via navigating network. I also saw online a guy use the ip address of the source so it doesnt need a un/pw, but i havent been successful with that either....

I;m chasing the easiest solution possible. Cheers.

have you checked if Kodi's SMB client is set to SMBv1? You'll find it inside Kodi's configuration menu....
"Don't come to me with 'issues' for I don't know how to deal with those
Come to me with 'problems' and I'll help you find solutions"

Some people be like:
"Help me! Am drowning! But dont you dare touch me nor come near me!"
