SMB2 and visibility in Windows Network...

Thu Oct 04, 2018 10:45 am

Hi guys

i have an small issue with visibility of my RPI3B+ in Windows Network.

For security reason i have added in my config

Code: Select all

min protocol = SMB2
which causes that RPi is no visible in Windows Network.

As soon as i comment that line and restart service RPi shows up straight away.

Entire config is:

Code: Select all

[global]
workgroup = abc
dns proxy = no
log file = /var/log/samba/log.%m
max log size = 1000
syslog = 0
panic action = /usr/share/samba/panic-action %d
server role = standalone server
map to guest = bad user
security = user
passdb backend = smbpasswd
min protocol = SMB2

[public]
path = /share
writeable = yes
public = yes
force user = username
Anybody knows how to keep SMB2 and have RPi visible in WIndows Network?

Thank you.

Sorry, but you cannot, you need SMBv1 for network browsing, you will need to map the shares instead.
