Chromium Widevine missing [Raspbian]

Fri Sep 07, 2018 4:23 am

So i got 2 RPI's today and i installed Rasbian via NOOBS and one of them is going to be a Web server the other is going to be a media device (Netflix, Youtube, ect)

Im new to linux so this is a huge learning curve for me now when i booted up netflix it say i was missing components under chrome://components (Chromium browsers)

Now when i checked Widevine was on 0.0.0.0 and when i clicked update it just wouldnt do anything :( so i researched how to update the software for the PI and well it updated EVERYTHING LUL, and now Widevine isnt even under chromiums components list anymore and i tried to install it via this tutorial and get stopped in my tracks :(

When i try to run the "makepkg -sri" then i realised its prob not right line of code for debian so could somone convert that method for me to my version of linux :( sorry im a NOOB :( got a long ways to go.

We aren't able to distribute widevine legally. However, you should look up widevine raspberry Pi vivaldi. You should find a guide with the steps on how to get it for another browser. The same steps work for chromium.

If you can not play the video. Then there is with your browser's widevine plugin. This happens when the plugin does not updates with the latest version.

How to fix Widevine Content Decryption Module update error

1. Update your plugin.
2. Enable the Widevine Content Decryption Module
3. Reinstall the Widevine Content Decryption Module.
4. Try to give full permission to Widevine Content Decryption Module.

I found this amazing way to fix the Widevine Content Decryption Module.
