Wed Aug 29, 2018 7:50 pm

Hello everyone. My first time here. My kid dropped and broke the raspberry piMicro SD Card Slot. See image below.

I need to replace the card slot. I bought the part from https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/ ... ND/1786515.

Question. Do I need to remove the black part where the PINs are supported or just the PINs?? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

THanks

1. Why do you write "first time here" when you have 6 other posts dating back to November 2016?

2. This section of the forum is about software running on a computer other than a RPi. Just about the last place on the forum you should be asking about a hardware problem with a RPi.

To answer your question it looks like the black plastic part is part of the broken SD card slot, that supports the pins.

If you had looked at the imaged of the new SD card slot you have purchased you can clearly see the black plastic part under the pins

So to answer your question yes you will have to remove it.
