PI Zero is nonfunctional per troubleshooting steps.

I've tried all the steps in the troubleshooting guide and my brand new out of the baggie pie zero is dead.
When connecting it to a computer via usb without an SD card (or anything else connected to it) there is no usb device recognized sound and the broadcom boot device message doesn't show up in dmesg.
I purchased 3 boards on one order:
Pi zero
Pi zero w
Pi 3B
My 3B seems ok but with a 67% failure rate I'm not holding my breath.
