Raspberry Pi 3 b+ not doing anything besides a solid red LED

Sun Jun 24, 2018 10:22 pm

Hello,

I've been using my Pi for almost 2 months without problems now but it stopped working today.
While trying to boot it on OctoPrint it wouldn't do anything besides turning on the red LED (I tried a copy of raspbian and had the same problems).
I've tried putting a new image on the SD card (which is working fine in my laptop and has been formatted).
The pins of the sd card reader of the Pi make contact including the contacts in the corner.
The voltages are all 5.4 volts even after passing the polyfuse.

Can someone please help me with this problem since I can't find a solution for it.

5.4 volts is too high for a Pi. The limit is 5.25v

The Pi may work at anything up to 6v, but how long it lasts is unpredictable, hence the upper limit of 5.25v recommended.
My guess is your Pi decided it couldn't tolerate the overvoltage anymore.
Stop plugging your fan directly into the GPIO 5v
