Hi,

Did the usual

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update etc
on a pi that’s not been run for a while and been left with strange start menu icons, and a missing start bar.. Is anyone else seeing this?

Cheers,
TM

OK, so it looks as if PIXEL has for some reason reverted to pre-Jessie.. I’ve tried all the upgrade options including

Code: Select all

dist-upgrade
and no joy.

I’m struggling to find any reference as to how to get the current version of PIXEL... No idea why this has happened so randomly!

Edited to add:

Code: Select all

[email protected]:~ $ cat /etc/os-release
PRETTY_NAME="Raspbian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch)"
NAME="Raspbian GNU/Linux"
VERSION_ID="9"
VERSION="9 (stretch)"
ID=raspbian
ID_LIKE=debian
HOME_URL="http://www.raspbian.org/"
SUPPORT_URL="http://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianForums"
BUG_REPORT_URL="http://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianBugs"
And

Code: Select all

[email protected]:~ $ sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list >>

deb http://archive.raspbian.org/raspbian stretch main contrib non-free
deb-src http://archive.raspbian.org/raspbian stretch main contrib non-free

# deb http://raspbian.raspberrypi.org/raspbian/ stretch main contrib non-free rpi
# Uncomment line below then 'apt-get update' to enable 'apt-get source'
#deb-src http://raspbian.raspberrypi.org/raspbian/ stretch main contrib non-free rpi

I restored my old config files and PIXEL looks like it should again, I still have black window chrome which isn’t right and not sure how to change that back to blue? Otherwise, mostly back to normal!
