Testing the Power Supply

Mon Apr 30, 2018 7:19 pm

Hi,

I wonder if anybody can help me.

I have a Raspberry Pi 3b+ and occasionally I am getting voltage warnings (OSD)using an official RPi PWS. I've swapped for another official PWS and still get the same warning message. So, I wanted to know if there is a simple and safe way of testing the PWS output using a multimeter?

Thanks

Scott

What do you have connected to your P3B+ ? (Mine works fine with an older, lower current "Official PSU"**)
Trev.
** Perhaps not that "simple" but, FWIW, here's my test results (and there are links to the method/tools used in that, and, associated pages): http://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_pi ... _Models.29
Still running Raspbian Jessie or Stretch on some older Pi's (an A, B1, 2xB2, B+, P2B, 3xP0, P0W, 2xP3A+, P3B+, P3B, B+, and a A+) but Buster on the P4B's. See: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_pi/raspiidx.htm

A multimeter is not accurate enough, you'll want an oscilloscope.
