Raspberry Pi 3 B Plus cannot use bridge networking (systemd-networkd)... bug?

Running Arch ARM (armv7h) on a 3 B Plus and cannot get bridge networking to work (systemd-networkd). Configuring it and rebooting leads it to simple crash on the startup waiting for the network.

If I put the exact SD card unmodified into a 3 B, it boots fine. There is something unique about the B Plus causing the issue. Can other users get bridge networking to work on their 3 B Plus?

See my config files above. I am not actually connecting anything to the bridge at the point of the error (I do this later with a linux container).

Stick with the 3B until Arch updates itself to the nuances of the 3B+

Are you thinking of a specific package that needs to be updated or is your advice of a general nature? Arch is pretty "fresh" with regard to upstream versions.

The 3B+ requires new firmware particularly regarding networking and power, your 64bit OS may have not caught up yet.
Scotty never said "I canae give her any more Captain, She'll blow".
B'Elanna Torres however did say "Get the cheese to the sickbay" :?:

The firmware package was updated 2 days ago. I think it's in sync with upstream. Also, I am not running the 64-bit version (called aarch64), it is the 32-bit version (called armv7h).

I tried building 4.14.29 with the patch pelwell mentioned but it does not fix the issue.
