Editing Fstab once in Emergency mode

Tue Mar 20, 2018 9:19 am

Hi All,

I'm trying to do a clean instal of my Plex media server and have run into an issue when editing my fstab.

Basically I've made a small mistake and now my pi (running Raspbian) is booting in Emergency Mode and won't let me go back and edit it. When I first created a plex server and I had this issue (just over a year ago), I was at least able to type and get back to the fstab to edit and reboot, now I literally can't do anything, the only thing my pi recognises my keyboard doing is pressing enter, it then sits for a while before giving me the same error message;

Code: Select all

Cannot open access to console, the root account is locked.
See slogan(8) man page for more details.

Press Enter to continue
HELP! I could restart but then if a similar error happens again, I'll lose another 45 or so minutes.

Thanks
