Previous ethernet connection and no wifi

Sat Mar 17, 2018 9:15 pm

I booted my Raspberry pi using an ethernet connection. But later when I switched it on in another place with wi-fi, I tried to update but all it keeps showing is Connecting to 172.16.10.80, which is my previously connected LAN. What should I do? I am not able to install anything using wi-fi.

Your pi should not be attempting to connect to the previous LAN connection address , even if you have set a static IP on the pi it will not attempt to connect until you connect it via a cable to a network.

you will get a default address 169.254.x.x range , if in fact your pi is trying to connect to the 172.16.10.80 then you may have a corrupted SD card.

I would try another SD card with the latest raspbian stretch image and see what happens then.
