So I have read myself exhausted on topics trying to find my answer and cannot. So if anyone can help, that would be amazing.

I want to start by saying I found this, which was a bit interesting, but not very helpfull: http://elinux.org/R-Pi_Troubleshooting# ... iFi_device

I am using a Raspberry Pi with:
Occidentalis v0.2, **Raspbian Wheezy 8.16.2012
Apple , Inc. Aluminum Keyboard (ANSI)
Belkin F7D1102 Surf Micro Wireless Adapter (Realtek RTL8188CUS)
Logitech, Inc. Wireless Mouse M305
Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 7-Port Lighted Hub (shows up as Genesys Logic, Inc. USB-2.0 4-Port HUB)
Griffin Technology PowerBlock (5v & 1A)
Mediabridge - USB 2.0 A-Male to Micro-B Cable (6 Feet)
** I have also tried using a:
Apple Keyboard from years ago (my eMac) - it's a mechanical keyboard of sorts
Apple Optical Mouse (from that same eMac) - one button
Razer Orochi Mouse - Yes, it works, but only if the keyboard isn't plugged in anywhere

I get the keyboard to work, 'startx' but the mouse wont work. I can unplug the keyboard and the mouse will work, but then when I plug the keyboard back in it wont work. This most recent time I tried with the Adafruit distro because it has the built in Realtek drivers and well, I'm a Mac User not used to Linux (but a Software engineer, so I should start somewhere :D).

• I also tried this with Raspbian Wheezy a month or two ago, go so frustrated that i had to walk a way for a bit.

• Two days ago, I got my second RaspberryPi in the mail, so I have tried it on 2 boards, so I can rule it out on the board being the issue.

• Also, I don't have a ethernet cable long enough to go from my router to where I have my Pi, so updating is an issue - WiFi is a problem I'll sort out when I get my Keyboard and Mouse working together for the GUI.

** I have tried different configurations in terms of plugging the peripherals in - some to the Pi, some to the HUB, ect.

Please help!! Thank you to anyone reading this :D

YAY - I have finally figured out my problem!! But in doing so, created a new problem... No, more like a dilemma.

The problem wasn't with the power supply. The problem, believe it or not, was with the USB HUB (powered of course). I'm not sure what was going on, but with the USB HUB plugged in I was getting the issues with the WiFi, Keyboard and Mouse not playing together at all. The keyboard would work, but in the GUI the mouse would not. And I only saw the WiFi dongle only actually turn on ONCE. But with the Keyboard and the mouse plugged directly into the Pi and a HDMI cable going to the TV with the GUI running everything WORKS!!!

So, no I need to find a combo that will work. Maybe a I could do a Wireless Keyboard & Mouse combo with WiFi Dongle in the other port of the Pi or maybe I should do a Powered USB HUB that is on the list of compatible peripherals for all the accessories.

** I can also confirm that during my trials this morning: the Asus Nexus 7 & Amazon Kindle Fire power supplies do indeed work. As does the Griffin PowerBlock Universal Micro with a generic USB cable.

Glad you got it going! I had a "backfeeding" USB hub that had issues with just about everything
I plugged in. In fact even plugging that hub in would cause problems... But do realize that wifi dongles will probably draw ~500mA and a wireless keyboard/mouse may pull about 100 or more. If you go
below about 4.75V at the test points, you may have "random" problems/hangs.
