Banshee Gain is not right.

Hello,

I am using banshee to play my files and it seems like it is adding gain. I have the volume set at 5 to 7% and it's blasting.

Does Banshee add gain?

What else would cause this behavior?

It is the default CLi media player with hardware accelleration in Raspbian:
