Created New User - Wireless Interface Issue

Fri Dec 01, 2017 12:34 pm

Hi,

I've been looking to create a new user disable the Pi user to lock down my Pi2 model B. After doing so there seems to be an issue with the wireless interface (via wireless usb). The Pi user would show the Wifi GUI and all networks available, however when logged into the other user this does not show. The previous connection would still work but I'd not be able to connect to a new network or scan for others.

I've created a new user using the same permissions but can't seem to get around the issue - i simply see the 'Error saving /etc/dhcpcd.confi' message if i click on it or No Wireless Interface Configured when hovering over it.

If i go back into the Pi user - absolutely fine! I can only guess permissions but they're in the same group, both same access I don't quite understand.

Cheers!

The new user is not in the netdev group
