[Hard] Broken monitor output

Mon Nov 20, 2017 8:49 am

I have a Pi 3. It works fine some days on monitors (DVI 4:3 and HDMI 16:9) and TV (HDMI 16:9).

Now, monitors get "No video input" but TV still works.

I switch the Pi 3 with a friend Pi 3 (same SD, same cables, same monitors) and it works.

I seems my Pi 3 is broken for monitors (DMT mode).

I try a lot of configuration on /boot/config.txt without any success.

There is a kind of "bios" to reset, because it cannot be a software on SD issue (works with an another Pi 3).

I've done a video in french : https://photos.app.goo.gl/X8Wfm9nYFpIaIsu03

I use a friend Raspberry that works on 2 monitors (HDMI 16/9 and DVI 4/3).

Then I switch to my Raspberry : same cables, same SD, same monitors.

Monitors get no signal.

This is not show but my Raspberry can output on TV (HDMI 16/9). Aslo, it can be reach by network.

Try adding the following to config.txt.

hdmi_force_hotplug=1
config_hdmi_boost=7

And increase the config_hdmi_boost= value up to 11 (incrementally) to see if it helps. You could also try different HDMI cables. While all Pi3 computers are the same, in theory, in reality there are part and manufacturing tolerances that produce subtle differences. You may have a Pi3 with a slightly lower output on the HDMI port combined with a marginal HDMI cable.
My password is the last 8 digits of Pi.

Thank for your reply.

My "broken" works few days with the same monitor and the same cable.
After a day of work, I go home and I turn on the Pi without image. I plug into the TV : ok.
Few day after, a friend come with his Pi3, use my SD, cable and monitor with success.

My config.txt was hdmi_force_hotplug=1 and hdmi_boost=0 from the first day.

When it stop working, I try to increase boost little by little, until 15 : no signal for monitors (I tryed differents monitors at my work).

I've contacted GearBest after sales, waiting for an answer (or a new Pi, I hope !).

No idea about this issue ?

GearBest doesn't answer yet.

It's strange for an hardware issue and I imagine that can be an eeprom issue.

There is anyway to reset the eeprom ?
