Jessie on Rpi2 - how to get back kernel 4.4

Thu Nov 02, 2017 10:37 am

Hi!

Have a problem with an application, which I resolved in the past by reverting the kernel of Jessie back to version 4.4 with

Code: Select all

rpi-update 52241088c1da59a359110d39c1875cda56496764
but after the last update to

Code: Select all

4.9.35-v7+ #1014 SMP Fri Jun 30 14:47:43 BST 2017 armv7l GNU/Linux
I only get

Code: Select all

rpi-update 52241088c1da59a359110d39c1875cda56496764
bash: rpi-update: command not found
Any idea how to get the old kernel back? :-(
Kind regards

have you tried sudo rpi-update?
what is the output of: $ which rpi-update

Hi and thanks for reply!

Ran the command from su terminal... ;-)

Output of

Code: Select all

which rpi-update
is completely empty. so rpi-update is gone, apparently... :-(
Kind regards

Get a copy of rpi-update from https://github.com/hexxeh/rpi-update
Install that in /usr/bin

...for the last hour: Where is Dougie...? :-)

installed rpi-update and apparently rolling back the kernel, hope this will not break the install, was a lot of work...

rebooting now...

everything up and running

Dougie you are my hero of the week! :-D
Kind regards
