Pi3 Audio Out Noise after Testing I2S Board

Sun Oct 15, 2017 2:48 pm

Good Day,

I have a weird issue with my Pi3, I setup an I2S audio device PCM5102 http://www.ebay.com/itm/PCM5102-I2S-Int ... 2158425772 and tested the audio through this device which is great.

Now that I have removed the device from my Pi and reversed the installation steps I find that the audio through the 3.5mm Jack has a constant loud "static"/"ringing"/"whistling" like noise which begins as soon as the Pi starts up. I have even tried a fresh Jessie Install which leads me to believe it could be HW related.

If I play audio, I can hear the sound as background to the static on the line so the audio is coming through.

Some background, Im using the Pi3 to test functionality I require from the pi zero. I need to play some audio through the pi zero so Im first testing it on the Pi3 as its juts easier in terms of connectivity (Ethernet and Wifi access).

Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions on what could be tried?
Thanks
