Network-Adapter RTL8812AU and AWUS036ACH not working

Fri Oct 06, 2017 5:02 pm

Dear community,

Since yesterdayI have got the RasPi3 and it looks like a lot of fun but I have got big problems with my network-adapter.
Its one of those WLAN AC adapters with chipset rtl8812au and I cannot install the drivers.

Currently I am trying to install the drivers on the RasPi3 with Kali ARM Linux.
I updated and upgraded everything.
With rpi-update I even updated the kernel from 4.4 to newest available 4.9(forgot exact name, will tell you later if its necessary).
I also have the Full-Kali on my laptop upgraded to kernel 4.12.0-kali2-adm64.
The RasPi image cannot be upgraded to this kernel (max. 4.9...).

On my laptop I

- made a clean install

Code: Select all

- added repositories for Kali
- apt update
- apt upgrade
From official Kali Linux Developers:
https://www.kali.org/news/kali-linux-20171-release/

Code: Select all

- apt-get update
- apt install realtek-rtl88xxau-dkms
And then the drivers were installed and the chip is working fine.
BUT on the RasPi it always fails - no chance.

Has someone a compatible tutorial for the rtl8812au drivers and RasPi? --> Preferably running on Kali Linux (ARM).

Thank you so much in advance!

Is there anybody out there who knows how to install 8812au-driver properly (WITH full functionality)?
