Bluetooth no longer working RPI 3

Tue Jun 27, 2017 12:32 pm

My Bluetooth is no longer working, the icon in the top right corner stays grayed out. I tried the following viewtopic.php?f=28&t=171999&p=1126058#p1126058 but without any luck.

I also created a fresh micro sd card with Raspbian on it and I get the same outcome.. Could my chip be damaged all of the sudden? Because when I use a Bluetooth dongle it works fine..

FYI: I get the following output running dmesg | grep -i bluetooth
[ 36.300500] Bluetooth: Core ver 2.22
[ 36.300592] Bluetooth: HCI device and connection manager initialized
[ 36.300612] Bluetooth: HCI socket layer initialized
[ 36.300626] Bluetooth: L2CAP socket layer initialized
[ 36.300653] Bluetooth: SCO socket layer initialized
[ 36.321774] Bluetooth: BNEP (Ethernet Emulation) ver 1.3
[ 36.321781] Bluetooth: BNEP filters: protocol multicast
[ 36.321797] Bluetooth: BNEP socket layer initialized
[ 37.486847] Bluetooth: RFCOMM TTY layer initialized
[ 37.486871] Bluetooth: RFCOMM socket layer initialized
[ 37.486893] Bluetooth: RFCOMM ver 1.11

I have exactly the same issue with the added 'bonus' of loss of WiFi so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does someone have a solution? I tried a fresh sd card with NOOBS on it and the bluetooth still isn't working.. Strange thing is if this is a hardware defect then why is Wi-Fi still working? I thought it was one single chip Wi-Fi + Bluetooth on the pi?
