Ethernet stopped connecting

Hi all,
My Pi3 briefly connected to my laptop (I was able to do an SSH, browse the internet etc) and the next day, it just stopped. The network lights weren't blinking and the connection did not show up in the network and sharing center.

What I tried:

Connected Pi3 to my friend's laptop and it wasn't working on it, either.

I wanted to know if the Pi was the problem so I borrowed my friend's brand new Pi, put my SD card on it and wasn't able to connect it to my laptop.

Tried using a different ethernet cable

I tried ipconfig and it says 'Media disconnected' for that particular connection. When I went to device manager, it says the ethernet adapter is working fine. Any ideas?

Model: Pi3 Model B
SD card: San Disk ultra 32 gb
OS: Raspbian Jessie with Pixel, image written with Etcher software
Windows 7, 4 GB RAM
Cable used: Cat6 ethernet cable
Power supply: 5V

Yes I do. Both are detecting on my laptop.
