Boot problems

Thu May 25, 2017 1:49 pm

I have many troubles getting a working version of the RPI 1b.
I have multiple boards, multiple power connectors, multiple cables, multiple SD cards and all those combined have the same result.

RPI Keeps rebooting or unplug to power and plug it back in the device sometimes stop with the RPI icon on top and no text.
Many times i see the full color display but this because it keeps rebooting.

I read everywhere i have not enough power.. The board requires 1800mA the adapter gives 2000mA or some 2500mA.
I read i need a class 10 sd card.. Tried multiple and different factory items but without luck.

What i did notice is after installing a older version the device did go further but still black screen and my monitor shuts down.

Someone any help?

You do not need a Class 10 card. A Class 4 or 6 card will work, just not as fast for some tasks.

The original RPis - ones with the RCA phone socket for composite video - will run from a 1200 mA supply if there are no power-hungry USB devices plugged in.

The most common cause of rebooting during booting is inadequate powering arrangements. Power supplies do have a habit of failing, especially the switched mode type that is now ubiquitous. They do not die completely but become incapable of delivering the required current and voltage simultaneously as the electrolytic capacitor on the output of the high frequency rectifier degrades.

I`m sorry late response didn`t played with the raspberry for a long time.
No i picked it up again and still the same issue.

1) Downloaded "2017-09-07-raspbian-stretch-lite"
2) Installed it with Etcher on the SD card (see attachment)
4) Connected the device to a keyboard, ethernet and a screen
3) Connected the device to the power supply (see attachment)

The device only gives the following led signal.
Red lights up, green blinks about 5 times (not in a chronical order but random), red falls out and it starts all over..

The device only gives the following led signal.
Red lights up, green blinks about 5 times (not in a chronical order but random), red falls out and it starts all over..
The red power led being extinguished is a clear sign that you have a power supply problem.

Whatever the label claims, that power adapter in conjunction with the micro USB connection are not reliably providing a steady 5 volt supply to your RPi.

After changing the power supply to another the device works.
So 5v and 2.5a isn`t always working

You have drawn an incorrect conclusion.

5 volts and 2.5 amps always works fine. Your original power supply does not deliver what it says on the label. Either the label was always a lie or the PSU has become faulty.
