My pi smells

Thu May 25, 2017 4:28 am

Hello. I'm new to pi forums. I got my pi before 3 days. When I got it on my hands the pi had a smell like it is burned. However pi works well. And no problems has occurred. Does the pi smells like this for all of you. Or just for me.

Hi,

is the Pi you have made in the UK or elsewhere? Should be marked on the board.

No it doesn't get that hot. If my mind won't lie me. The last time I saw the temperature was 59 Celsius. Is that normal.

50-ish while idle sounds reasonable.

if you got your PI within days after it was produced, it might still carry the smell of the soldering oven it went through, nothing to worry about, its the smell of being "brand new".
