Wireless interfaces not found and no Bluetooth adapter found

Mon May 08, 2017 7:43 am

I have two Raspberry Pi Zero W's. When I insert the SD card in one, everything works as usual. When I insert the SD card in the other, the wireless interfaces are not found and the Bluetooth adapter is not found. This exact same Zero W worked yesterday. I tried to connect a MCP3008, maybe faulty wiring caused problems, but I checked it and it seems good.

Output of lsusb:
Bus 001 Device 003: Logitech, Inc. Keyboard
Bus 001 Device 001: Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

On startup, i get error: mmc0 error -110 whilst initializing sdio card

If you need any other info, let me know! Thanks!

I'm having the exact same problem with a Pi 3 and Pi W. The WiFi and Bluetooth interfaces are not detected on my Pi 3, but they are detected on my Pi Zero W. It started when I put the SD card from my Pi 3 into my Pi 2. Even after reflashing the SD, the interfaces still aren't detected.

That is interesting. For me it also stopped working when I put the same SD card in the other Zero W and back again in the original one. I have also flashed the SD card again, but still it is not working. Maybe this gives some further info for someone to know what the problem might be?

That's really strange. Hopefully it isn't a hardware issue.

In the ZeroW and RPI3 the wireless chip that provides the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth is on a SDIO interface and will never appear in the output of the lsusb command.

So how can I check whether the wireless interface not found is a software or hardware issue if lsusb doesn't work? I am not an expert on this area.
