USB Camera motion problem

Fri Mar 17, 2017 7:19 pm

Hello,

So what I did, I installed motion and changed some settings according to this site https://pimylifeup.com/raspberry-pi-webcam-server/ to get acces to the page using my computer which is on the same network.

My first problem seems to be whenever I change some settings in "config/list" and restart motion it doesn't save them, even when I manually change them in the config file located in "/etc/motion/motion.conf".

The second problem is if I want to make a snapshot using "action/snapshot" the motion service seems to crash, after that the green led on my camera turns off and the site is no longer accessible.

I can stream the video with no problem but when taking a screenshot it crashes. Could it be related to ffmpeg? if so how can I fix it?

FYI: the camera I'm using is a Logitech V-U0018

Thanks in advance

Nvm. fixed the problem it crashed because it couldn't write to the specified folder, changed permissions and now it works!
