Bluetooth crash after days

Sat Feb 11, 2017 11:42 pm

Hi,

I have recently connected a bluetooth speaker to my PI3. All is working fine
But, i noticed that my speakers can't stay connected for ever. I wasn't able to keep the speaker connected more than 36 hours. I thought it was the speakers who just shutdown the connection but it looks like the onboard bluetooth crash after many hours of usage.
I can't find any log related to this crash.
But i noticed the following error :

Code: Select all

Bluetooth: hci0 command 0x0401 tx timeout
hcitool scan
timeout or Device is not available: No such device
To fix this i have to restart the RPI, but it's not suitable as i use this speaker for my home automation.

Do you have any fix for this ?

My RPI is up to date OS + firmware.

Thanks.

The onboard bluetooth and wifi do not play nicely. See viewtopic.php?f=28&t=140471&start=25
I disabled the onboard bluetooth and I'm using a usb blueooth dongle. I can confirm I get a stable connection for days. I only disconnect it to recharge the speaker.

Thanks,

As my RPI uses RJ45 connection, is there a way to disable wifi properly ?
Maybe with just bluetooth it could be fine ?

Thanks

I have disabled Wifi on the RPI but bluetooth continue to crash without notice and no log.
I have increase verbosity in pulseaudio in case i can see something.
But i'm quite sure bluetooth stop responding and all software who uses it failed.

I don't have any bluetooth dongle to test without the onboard bluetooth.
