Settings for a specific HDMI TV

I'm trying to get the best hdmi output for with a finlux model 26fl745 tv and raspberry pi 3. in the tv manual I read that it works with 720p and 1080i. the display specification shows that it's running on 50Hz refresh rate. I tried following (pairs of) options in config.txt which all didn't work:
hdmi_group=1
hdmi_mode=19
(or)
hdmi_mode=20
(or)
hdmi_mode=39

otherwise with

hdmi_safe=1

it works fine.

Anyone has an idea what settings to try before I have to try all options?
Think I have to try 60Hz options too ...

I tested by hand some values for "hdmi_mode"', where following did work:
1 2 3 6 7 8 15(w/ "white pixel noise") 17 18 21 22 25(same)

so the best I could get now is mode 22 (576i) where the tv should do 720p or 1080i. A Wiiu running on HDMI port proposed 720p, manually 1080i did also work. Looks like this TV sends out some bad edid informations... Anyone has some clues how to get 1080i or 720p on this raspberry pi 3?
