this is a example of my proyect https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7cDbz4aw02E

i have a SSR relay with this spect Image

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Solid-State-Rel ... Sw-CpX~I~V

i put in this order in the raspberry

GND to point 4 of the relay
GPIO21 to point 3 of the relay

and the connection typical of the relay, now the problem is the relay send a red point in the circle of the input of the relay when i active the gpio ... but the lamp try flicker

what is the problem ??? i a new user in raspberry

any idea is welcome. Thanks.

I suspect that the power required by the input circuit of the relay is very close to what a RPi GPIO can supply.

Try adding a small-signal NPN transistor and resistor as follows.
Terminal 3 of relay to +5 volts from RPI GPI0 header.
Terminal 4 of relay to collector of transistor.
Base of transistor to one end of a resistor. (Resistor anything between 2k2 and 4k7). Other end of resistor to GPIO21.
Emitter of transistor to GND.
