Problem usb hub

Fri Sep 07, 2012 8:24 am

Hello, yesterday I bought this usb hub for my Raspberry Pi: LogiLink UA0091 (http://elinux.org/RPi_VerifiedPeripherals). When I connect mouse and keyboard r-pi not recognised them but when I connect a lot of standard usb key r-pi work good.
Any suggest?

What distro are you using and what is your kernel revision? (uname -a)
What usb devices do you see? (lsusb)
Is the hub powering the Pi trough it's upstream usb port?
(If you disconnect the Pi power adapter, does the red power led still light up a little?)
What config options do you have in the /boot/cmdline.txt file?
What brand of usb keyboard and mouse did you test? Have you tried others you might have lying around?

My distro is: Raspbian "wheezy" 2012-08-16
My kernel revision is: Linux raspberrypi 3.2.27+ #102 PREEMPT
With lsusb I see this: http://uptiki.altervista.org/viewer.php ... he4ezb.jpg (mouse is connect in the hub, keyboard is connect in the raspberry's port)
The hub have got external power.
When I open with leafpad cmdline.txt I see this: http://uptiki.altervista.org/viewer.php ... eupr63.jpg

plug the keyboard directly
sudo rpi-update
reboot
retest
BFQ+BFS or RT on a RPi? 4'real: https://github.com/licaon-kter/ (source and compiled!)

I try this but after reboot when I start X server the screen remain black; when I press ctrl+alt+backspace I can see this error: http://uptiki.altervista.org/viewer.php ... ycaorv.jpg

Nothing. I Format my sd-card and I reinstalled Debian, after I did the update.

I just bought a powered USB hub and I get the above - when I unplug power from Pi, red light still on. What causes this?

It is the hub not conforming to the USB spec and backfeedingpower down the USB connection. If you have a newish Pi with 0 ohm resistors in place of the F1/F2 polyfuses you may get away with this. If it is an original board then despite the red LED being on it is unlikely enough power is getting past the polyfuses to power the Pi reliably.

I think my problem is recognise my mouse to raspberry because I try to connect to the hub tree different mouse and the problem remain. When I connect to the hub a lot of usb key rasp-pi recognise all devices but when I connect a mouse or a keyboard and from the terminal I press "lsusb" I see all devices but not mouse/keyboard.
Anyone have suggest?

Thanks for the feedback. It's an original board, so I guess my cheap £3 powered USB hub can go to my PC and my Belkin one can be used by the Pi....always assuming the Belkin conforms.
