Bad Superblock

Sat Jul 09, 2016 2:12 pm

Hi I am in need of some help I have a bad superblock on my SD Card I have tried fsck but I get this

Code: Select all

[email protected]:~$ sudo fsck -v /dev/mmcblk0p6
[sudo] password for reg:
fsck from util-linux 2.20.1
e2fsck 1.42.9 (4-Feb-2014)
root: recovering journal
Superblock needs_recovery flag is clear, but journal has data.
Run journal anyway<y>? yes
fsck.ext4: unable to set superblock flags on root

root: ********** WARNING: Filesystem still has errors **********
I made a DD image of the card and I am able to access every partition using a linux PC any ideas what the problem is I would prefer to fix it rather than having to reconfigure everything from scratch.

Thanks,
Yonu

I hope you've got a good backup because that error is usually the final death throes before you scrap the filesystem and restore from a backup.

sudo fsck -y -b 32768 /dev/mmcblk0p6
may get things working, but don't bet on it.

no just the DD image I was able to pull files as if I pop te card in my linux laptop all the partitions come up so I copied the files i absolutely needed off.

I had actuaually tried that and it gave me this error as well

Code: Select all

fsck.ext4: unable to set superblock flags on root
I am assuming I should just cut my losses and make a new card?

Thanks,
Yonu

u
Are you actually trying to repair the partition you're running from?
If so then try to do with the SD card inserted in your linux laptop.

That error is with it in the laptop I get it on any of the ext4 parts on the cards other than the part name changing
