My Rpi 3B won't boot

Mon May 09, 2016 2:10 pm

Hello,
I recently bought the Raspberry Pi along with a 7" DPI Display Monitor, and an Adafruit Kippah, and a 40-pin DPI extension cord.
As I tried to set up my new screen I followed a tutorial on the Adafruit website, but then when I got to the end I realized Displays do not work with my pre-installed NOOBS MicroSD Card. I promptly installed Raspbian Jesse onto my MicroSD Card and restarted the process of setting up my new Display.
On the tutorial it told me to update and upgrade the Pi, and then when those finish to restart the Pi. I updated and upgraded the Pi and then rebooted it, but now whenever I plug it in to my TV to finish the set up process it starts booting up and then goes to a blank screen with a little white dash at the top left corner. :x :?
I searched everywhere and found nothing on how to fix this issue. :!: Any help is appreciated! :?:

How did you "update" it?

My suggestion is to re-install Jessie again (don't do NOOBs), expand the file system, and only do this:
https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/raspbian/

Do NOT update/upgrade until after you have expanded the file system in menu/preferences/raspberry pi configuration

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
DNPNWO

Return to “Troubleshooting”
