Pi 3 WiFi Not Working

HELP! I got my Pi 3 up and operational yesterday and I'm delighted with it......except, I can't connect to the internet. It needs to work off of WiFi, which my laptop is using quite nicely. (Laptop & Pi 3 are within two feet of each other.) Everything I've discovered on these forums seems to be related to another (presuming earlier) version of the Pi. Isn't there any Pi 3 expertise out there who can help a simpleton get connected to the 'net with some simple commands and instructions? Please???
