Hi guys,

well i am honest i not sure which bit sorted the problem but is is finally paired,

i followed the procedure above and, initailly it wouldnt connect again as before,

I then checked the file /var/lib/bluetooth/id1/id2/info and the services bit was missing again.

so i added it manaully based on the file listed above. rebooted and it wouldnt connect again.

Then i tried the bluetoothctl -a command, connect and bingo it seemes to now be connecting everytime.

Thanks all to the help given much appriacted.

Hi Lee,

thank you for reporting the "whole story"...

So it was "a good idea" to tell you that specific "Services" line... 8-)

It's a little bit of mystic, of course, and I don't know if anyone else is encouraged now to try it out.

Nevertheless you are satisfied now.... :?

What is the "starting procedure" at your RPi? As I described above, I have to wait before switching on my BT keyboard until the first input is requested from the RPi (... and then it takes about 2 minutes until the first keystroke is accepted...).

Hi Frank

Keyboard on at power up, the connect light flashes, once in desktop press any key and it stops the flashing and it seems to connect straight away.

I'm really struggling with this.
I'm completely new to the RPi and new to all this jargon but keen to learn and keen to learn about the capabilities of this fascinating little device. Wisely or unwisely I decided I want to connect to the device using a bluetooth keyboard.
I'm a complete beginner and I'm struggling to connect my BT keyboard.

I've followed frankymusic's step by step instructions and can connect the keyboard manually (I'm using it now!) but I don't know how to reconnect it automatically after a reboot.

Can somebody advise me with some idiot proof step-by-step instructions?......remember I'm a complete beginner!

I'm having a similar issue with my keyboard, but I'm not finding any resolution so far. I'm using the Rpi3 and have run update, upgrade.

When I follow the instructions, I get the following results. I have followed that up with my info file contents. Can anyone give me some direction to make my bluetooth keyboard finally connect? Mouse works fine, but keyboard doesn't...

Thanks in advance...

Brian

Did you use a PIN code when you paired? I would unpair and do the pairing process over. Record the steps.

After many hours of searching and testing on the Pi3 without success, I eventually came across this.
http://www.techradar.com/how-to/computi ... -3-1316938

Because I'm a complete newbie to all of this and the Pi3, I can't be certain if following the instructions in the link made everything work or if it was a combination of everything I'd tried in the past + something I did whilst working through link's instructions.

Anyway, I now have a Bluetooth keyboard that connects to my Pi on boot up. After a Pi boot-up, on my particular B/T keyboard, all I have to do is "wake the keyboard up" by pressing and holding a key for three seconds and then it automatically connects to the Pi.

I hope everybody else gets their keyboards working too.

Hi
I have been using a Logitech (K380) and also a Kano keyboard on my Rp 3 however cannot get to print the "@" symbol by pressing shift and "2". Both return ("). Is there a way to get the ampersand symbol as I would like to use the machine for email.

Thanks,

mikehenville

I had a similar problem. You need to go to your Pi settings or preferences (whatever it's called) and change the keyboard settings to different region until you get the results you want.
I ended up doing a google image search on Qwerty keyboards. Turns out my B/T keyboard is a USA layout, all my other keyboards are UK layout

Hi,

I'm also facing the same problem.

I also installed the blueman applet (graphical application) but still I have the same problem).

it is not only with bluetooth keyboard but with any bluetooth device.

Please advice if your last efforts help to solve the problem.

Thanks

Avi
