Raspberry Pi Forums

My Pi has proven to be defective (not working with hats, not being able to delete a strangely faulty motion package, not being able to host a webserver, etc.)
What I wonder is, can I just reformat the SD card for it to work properly, or will I have to get a new Pi?

first try a completely new install, preferably on a new sd-card.
also, try another power supply.

fault descriptions do not point to a hardware problem in the PI.
