Auto Start app issue

Mon Jan 25, 2016 3:38 am

Hi,

I finally have a functioning arcade setup running mame4all_pi, but am having trouble auto launching it through my Jessie image.

In my rc.local i have (using their respective paths)
../retrogame &
python ../off-button-py &
../mame &
exit 0

on reboot this simply takes me to the desktop environment, the first two scripts work, but mame does not auto boot.

When i move mame to the second row, as in:

../retrogame &
../mame &
python ../off-button-py &
exit 0

upon reboot, the system goes directly to mame and freezes. I have to unplug the pi to reboot, and then it boots to the desktop.

What am I doing wrong here? Is there another way to force my rpi to boot to an app? Maybe running a custom python script to auto launch my file?

I dont mind seeing the desktop for a minute while it boots.

Thanks for the guidance!
