KODI serious problems.

Wed Jan 20, 2016 2:18 pm

Dear all,
I have serious problem with KODI.
I have this kind of message in log file (extract from amount row).
I don't see any kind of file.
The program started with command "kodi-standalone"
Below the strange messages in log file:
ERROR: DBus: Error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.InvalidArgs - No such property CanSuspend
ERROR: DBus: Error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.InvalidArgs - No such property CanHibernate
I think that this is because there is a conflict from "upower" deb package & kodi power package.
WARNING: JSONRPC: Could not parse type "PVR.Details.Channel"
WARNING: JSONRPC: Could not parse type "PVR.Details.ChannelGroup.Extended"
WARNING: JSONRPC: Could not parse type "GUI.Property.Value"
WARNING: JSONRPC: Could not parse type "Setting.Details.SettingList"
I don't know what is the problems.
At the end (after run the file within the program) I obtained this kind of message:
ERROR: Open - Error, could not open file /home/kodi/data/CLIP.avi
ERROR: ExtractThumb - Error creating demuxer
ERROR: Open - Error, could not open file /home/kodi/data/CLIP2.avi
ERROR: ExtractThumb - Error creating demuxer
NOTICE: DVDPlayer: Opening: /home/kodi/data/CLIP.avi
WARNING: CDVDMessageQueue(player)::Put MSGQ_NOT_INITIALIZED
Did someome encounter this kind of problems?
I thank you very very much for help
A.

Well, you're posting log messages, but you don't tell us which (if any) problems you have when running Kodi...

Yes I missed the real problem discovered after the installation:
the player don't start with two avi files that I used as firts tests.
So my Kodi is (yet) not serviceable.:-(

If you are actually interested in getting your problem solved then you would have to give far more details.

What kind of information do you need?
I put only block-warning/errors because It is very long file.
Do you need a particulare section of this file?Or all component of this?
I thank you very much

Format of the AVI files would be useful - ie what codec was used to encode them.

Hello,
I found XVID (MPEG-4) (720 x 304) and
Audio (MPEG AUDIO layer 1/2/3 -mpga- 48Khz 128 Kb/s)
I don't know where I can check if this codec is disabled.
I activated also the debug.Do you need some particular row to check and It can help to solve the problem?
Where I can check?
I thank you again

Also more information of your setup.
It looks as if you're using Kodi on Raspbian (?).
Which versions of Raspbian and Kodi?
Are those local files or on a networked drive?

Have you tried to run omxplayer with these files from the command line?

Most important: How big is your GPU memory? kodi on Raspbian needs at least 160 MB to play all kinds of files.
Minimal Kiosk Browser (kweb)
Slim, fast webkit browser with support for audio+video+playlists+youtube+pdf+download
Optional fullscreen kiosk mode and command interface for embedded applications
Includes omxplayerGUI, an X front end for omxplayer

Dear all,
I use Raspbian Jessie & Kodi 15.1.The Gpu mem is 192M.With reference to omxplayer I run "omxplayer CLIP1.avi".The terminal look "have a nice day :-)".I don't know if there are codec problems. All files are in local directory with "777" grant.
Do you need allo the debugging msg?Thank you again.A.

Addendum:
below the debug in which grow-up the problem:
DEBUG: CGUIMediaWindow::GetDirectory (library://video/files.xml/)
DEBUG: ParentPath = []
NOTICE: Thread BackgroundLoader start, auto delete: false
DEBUG: Thread BackgroundLoader 1754055600 terminating
DEBUG: PushCecKeypress - received key b duration 203
DEBUG: PushCecKeypress - received key b duration 0
DEBUG: OnKey: 11 (0x0b) pressed, action is Select
DEBUG: CGUIMediaWindow::GetDirectory (/home/kodi/data/)
DEBUG: ParentPath = [sources://video/]
DEBUG: RunQuery took 1 ms for 2 items query: SELECT files.strFilename, files.playCount, bookmark.timeInSeconds, bookmark.totalTimeInSeconds FROM files LEFT JOIN bookmark ON files.idFile = bookmark.idFile AND bookmark.type = 1 WHERE files.idPath=1
NOTICE: Thread BackgroundLoader start, auto delete: false
DEBUG: DoWork - trying to extract thumb from video file /home/kodi/data/CLIP.avi
DEBUG: Thread BackgroundLoader 1754055600 terminating
DEBUG: PushCecKeypress - received key b duration 203
DEBUG: ffmpeg[698CC3B0]: Format avi detected only with low score of 1, misdetection possible
DEBUG: Open - probing detected format [avi]
ERROR: Open - Error, could not open file /home/kodi/data/CLIP.avi
ERROR: ExtractThumb - Error creating demuxer
With reference to JSON warning I think that I have not JSON-RPC package.I must verify the condition but I think that it is not linked with avi viewer problems.
Thanks if someone can help me.
