USB web cam works bad

I have problems with getting usb web cam working.
I'm trying to get stream from camera with mjpg-streamer.
If I plug web cam directly to raspberry pi, I can get at about 10 fps at 480x360, but 640x480 is not working, image is loading very slow (1 frame per 20+ seconds) with artifacts or not loading at all. CPU is not loaded fully, 30% max, but command line responds slowly, sometimes ssh connection breaks. Strange effect.
I tried to plug web cam via usb hub with extra power supply, but then I can't get fps > 1 even at 160x120, works very slow.
I also tried another web camera on raspbian and arch linux with same results.

Something similar is described here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... 0&p=130610

Any suggestions?

Have you tried a different powered USB hub ?

No, I have only 1 powered hub.
I've solved the problem with hub. Hub gived back +5V to r-pi USB port. I closed +5V line from hub to r-pi and now web cam plugged in hub works same as it is plugged directly to r-pi.
And I accepted the low resolution and forgot about 640x480.

Now I have another problem: web cam is not working when LXDE is running. mjpg-streamer sais that camera is not supporting videomode, but without LXDE it's running with same videomode. The same result is when I'm plugging usb wi-fi module D-Link DWA-125: web cam is not working. Also LXDE and wi-fi are not working together.

Firstly I thought that the problem is power supply, but I tested it with 1A usb charger, then with 2A usb hub power supply, then with computer power supply unit with 30A! No result.

Maybe the reason is poor integrated 2-port usb hub in r-pi? Or poor usb in SoC?

My aim is to run web cam streaming through wi-fi. Is it impossible task for r-pi?
Please, reply if someone can run any web-cam with any wi-fi module simultaneously!

My configuration is:
Raspberry pi model B, 1A, 2A or 30A power supply, D-Link DWA-125 or D-Link DWA-110 usb wi-fi module, SVEN CU 2.1 or A4Tech PK-336 usb web cam, AirTone ATH-04P powered usb hub. R-Pi powered from hub or separated. Raspbian or Arch, mjpg-streamer with res. 160x120.
Tested ANY combinations, can't get it work(

I got mjpg-streamer to compile with some help from #raspberrypi on freenode, I have it working with a 8192cu.ko module using wireless key. The frame rate is only about 2 frames a second at 640x480 and 8frames per second at 320x240 if that helps.

Did you make something besides "make all" to compile mjpg-streamer?
What os do you have on r-pi?
And what is your hardware configuration, do you use powered usb hub?
