No HDMI output RP2 B

Sat Dec 26, 2015 1:35 pm

I've purchased a new Raspberry Pi 2 B and am not able to boot it.
When I connect to my TV there is a "no signal" sign.

What I've tried:
- 3 different screens (new 2015 tv, old 2008 tv, computer screen with HDMI->DVI cable)
- replaced the HDMI cable
- replaced the SD card

on the SD cards I have several times tried:
1.
- formatted the drive on Mac using https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/format ... index.html
- copied the NOOBS files
- formatted the drive on Linux (FAT32), copied the files
- pressing keys 1,2,3,4 on the keyboard

2.
- copied 2015-11-21-raspbian-jessie.iso on my SD using dd on Mac
- copied the iso using the iso utility on Linux
- set the hdmi_force_hotplug=1 parameter in the config file

Interestingly, the keyboard has no power ("caps lock" does not turn on the led).

Any ideas what to try next?

I've read the post and still cannot figure it out.

What I am confused about is: " There should be no "1" or other number at the end of the destination name."
But my destination is /dev/disk2 (/dev/rdisk2) (Mac OS X).

Besides that, I have followed the manual, tried it on 2 DS cards (old SanDisk 8GB and a brand new 32GB), both with Noobs and the Rasbian image.

When supplied with power, both leds (green & red) are turned on, none of them are blinking :(
Just to eliminate possible errors: does the RB2B boot (green led blinking) without the keyboard and ethernet plugged in?
Will it booth without the HDMI cable plugged in?

First I want to make it blink, then will try to make it to show a picture.

Still does not work using the Pi-Baker. Tried both NOOBS & Raspbian IMG & downloaded Raspbian Lite IMG, still no light blinking.
Tomorrow I will try on my friends Windows laptop, perhaps a third SD card.
After that I will send the unit back. Does that make sense?

Well, I have tried 2 different USB cables, 2 different AC -> USB adapters (both 5V 1A, original iPhone one, and Samsung one) and through my laptop USB plug.

OK, I should get a 1.8A supply...

So it is possible that the leds are on, but the Raspberry still does not have enough power to boot, because I am using a 1A adapter? Will try to buy a 1.8A adapter.

I have found a 5.3V 2.0A power adapter, still nothing :(

Hi,

I have the same issue: Red and Green LED on.
Is not a problem of voltage. I was using for almost 10 months 5v - 2A.

Maybe is a problem with the Fusible?

If anybody have the solution or try something, please write back in the forum.

Wanted to weigh in and let you know that I have the Pi 2 Model B and am unsuccessful fully booting into noobs, wheezy, or jessie. I've tried different PSUs, microSD cards, hdmi cable, and hdmi to dvi-d cable. On Noobs, the rainbow screen displays and then the LED lights turn and stay red & green. On jessie and wheezy, it runs through the command lines and then the display turns black. I've opted to return the unit as something this simple shouldn't require hours of troubleshooting.

Regarding my problem: thanks for the help. There was a problem with the unit. I sent it back and got a replacement which worked on my first try.
