picture/video beyond screen borders

Tue Dec 01, 2015 9:08 pm

Hi,

Given : I have disabled overscan from xbian config tool and add "disable_overscan=1" to /boot/config.txt to be sure, I let default settings of Kodi except for resolution (1920x1080p) and I put my TV ratio at 16:9
When : I launch Kodi
Then : I see the picture goes beyond the screen borders, in particular, the time is cut by the top and right.

As a : user able to understand and use bash scripting (and more... but please assume I've made beginner mistakes)
I want : a plug and play feel between my/any display and my RPI2/Kodi
So : I must not spend time configuring hundreds of RPI2

I'd like another solution than the kodi video calibration tool as it proved not to be a stable/durable solution.

Thanks,

LittleNooby

O.S. : XBian_2015.11.14_rpi2.img
RPI : Raspberry Pi 2 model b
Display : Haier LE28M600C (but the solution should be applicable for any display)
Here are the only video settings I can play with on my display : Picture mode (standard) [brightness(50), contrast(50), sharpness(50), color(50), tint(0)], DNR (off), dynamic contrast (off), Format (16:9), color temperature (cold) and backlight (14/max). And after searching the display documentation, I can tell the word "overscan" does not appear one single time.
