Is this possible to achive with raspberry pi?

Thu Nov 26, 2015 12:03 am

I recently got my hands on the new raspberry pi 2. So far I'm enjoying my experiance with Kodi (using OSMC).

Among the projects I want to accomplish with this device is a way to access this website (https://beinsportsconnect.net) it is the official website for bein sports and if you have an account you stream HD quality channels 24/7. Unfourtently, this website uses silverlight to run this. Which I assume from what I researched is going to be problematic. If it is worth mentioning they also have an app in the google play store.

My question is if there is any hints you think can guide me to make this happen using any available OS (using kodi or linux doesn't matter) for the pi.

Silverlight is a proprietary Microsoft package, so it cannot be modified, and does not run on Linux or ARM machines. Moonlight and Pipelight appear to be Linux alternatives, but these need Wine to run (Wine is an x86 processor only application). It does seem that there is no way to run Silverlight or Silverlight alternatives on the Pi.

You could try running Android on the Pi, and using the Android App, but I don't know how well that runs.

Basically, it doesn't.

Moonlight is as dead as Silvelight. Android does not actually "run" on the Pi. Calling it crawling would be a better description of the existing builds -
a Moonlight build would also suffer from the missing HW acceleration.

• Don't like the board ? Missing features ? Change to the prosilver theme ! You can find it in your settings.
• Don't like to search the forum BEFORE posting 'cos it's useless ? Try googling : yoursearchtermshere site:raspberrypi.org
