Hang at boot, configuring network interfaces

Mon Jul 23, 2012 5:01 pm

Hello,

I have downloaded the Raspbian image.
But after the second reboot, the bootup process hangs at 'configuring network interfaces...'.
It does still respond to unplugging the ethernet cable, because I see the 'link down' and 'link up' messages.

Voltage between TP1 & TP2: 4.28V
SD card: Integral Ultima 16GB class 10
Image

Configuration software at first boot:

- Fill sd card
- Do not boot into LXDE
- SSH server on

Rather (and probably too) low. What power supply are you using?

Hi,

I am using this power supply: http://dx.com/p/eu-type-mini-usb-micro- ... ones-51909

But for as far as I know, it is only the Raspbian distro that is not working. I have used Debian for about 2 months without any problem.

hmmm... I'm also concerned by the low power reading, but I'm not sure if that has any correlation with the hanging issue.

If you have the time, would you mind reflashing the squeeze image onto your card and checking the voltage? It's *possible* that since the wheezy image it making use of the hard float in the pi's chip that it uses a little more juice... but that's mostly idle curiosity on my part :-P

If you don't want to waste time on that, I would try reformating and then reflashing that SD card. It's possible it didn't write the image perfectly. You might even want to start with checking the SHA keys and making sure it downloaded and unzipped correctly.

Hi,

I will reflash the SD card tonight if I don't forget.

I will let you know the voltage asap.

Same issue here, after changing ip to static, got stuck at boot(configuring network interfaces).
The re-flashing is not an option here.
Any ideas?

1) Get an SD card reader and connect to another linux machine (if no linux machine is available you can use a USB stick or DVD and write a "live" linux image onto it)
2) insert misconfigured IP SD card into card reader
3) browse on the SD card to you network file and fix problem.
