Scratch Over VNC Exits When Playing Sounds

Hi;
I am experiencing some strange behaviour with Scratch over a VNC session.
I am connected via an Ethernet cable (as I had not configured the Pi to connect to my Hotspot via WiFi before I lost access to a screen and keyboard).
I started tightvncserver on the Pi and then vnc viewer on my Mac.
I have attached a Jam Touch Bluetooth Speaker to my Pi via 3.5mm Audio.
I then opened Sonic Pi and played an example tune (it was very quiet and then the sound disappeared. I tested the speaker on my Mac and it worked fine.
I then opened Scratch and added a Say Hello which worked fine, I then added a sound Meow, when running this Scratch simply exits, I re-tested a couple of times with the same issue.
I then did a soft reboot and tried running tightvncserver as sudo and noticed that Scratch Desktop Icons had gone?? Is this as a result of running sudo tightvncserver?
Still no sound??
