compute module apt-get error

Wed Aug 19, 2015 8:28 pm

Hi

I have a new compute module dev kit, i followed the docs about flashing the device and uploading raspbian to it, so far so good.

So its a fresh raspbian 2015-05-05 install.

I just want to do sudo apt-get update as i always do in my other rpi, and im getting always the same error

Ign http://mirrordirector.raspbian.org wheezy/rpi Translation-en
Reading package lists... Error!
E: Encountered a section with no Package: header
E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/dpkg/status
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.

I tried to reinstall several times, and different solutions provided in the forum but i can not get it to work.

Suggestions¿?¿?¿?¿

Are you out of space in the root file system? That looks like something ran out of space while downloading.

Firstly, have you expanded the file system using the option in raspi-config to make full use of the available eMMC space?

Secondly, have you removed any (large) software that you don't need? The CM is usually used for embedded systems and doesn't need the full set of software that the Pi has installed.

Then try apt-get update and apt-get upgrade again.

Hi

Its a fresh install, no additional applications, just a raspbian image. I don't know if i run out of space in the compute module i assume that i have enough memory to run a clean raspbian image on it.

yes i expanded the file system using the raspi-config
