No audio output.

Mon Aug 10, 2015 5:31 am

I am using a raspberry pi 2, with the latest version of raspbian. It is part of the Ultimate Kit by Cana Kits. It fails to output audio in all cases. I have tried both HDMI and the 3.5mm port. The HDMI has no sound at all. The 3.5 port makes clicking sounds while launching the GUI, and has no sound afterwards. I tried the HDMI that was included in the kit, and another HDMI that I normally use for my Xbox. The cables were in 2 different input ports on my TV. Everything else works perfectly, only the audio has a problem. Are there any known causes or solutions?

Change the audio settings in raspi-config .
Backspace 28 times :)

sudo alsamixer

Use that to turn the volume up.

For HDMI this is what worked for me:
Edit /boot/config.txt and set:

Unless specified otherwise my response is based on the latest and fully updated Raspbian Buster w/ Desktop OS.
