Raspberry Pi 2 resolv.conf edit does not take.

Mon Jul 13, 2015 10:13 pm

Dear Raspberry Pi enthusiasts-
Our new Raspberry Pi 2's are not connecting to the internet.. They can't get DNS through the DHCP. It is set to 127.0.0.1 in resolv.conf. Any change disappears after reboot.

We are in a camp of 24 high school students. We are not having this problem with Rasberry PI Model B.

Sincerely,
Dave Ellert

Is this wired or WiFi?
What OS are you running?
Does your network have an MAC filtering?
Can you ping the gateway?
Can you ping 8.8.8.8?

The internet is not working on wired or WIFI. We are using Raspbian Wheezy, the image date is 5-5-15. We wrote our image to a micro SD card.
Thanks, -Dave

Is there a proxy between you and the internet?

Take the micro-SD card from a problemmatic RPi2 and use an adaptor to put the card in a Model B.

Can the B still access the internet?

Also post results of

Code: Select all

cat /etc/resolv.conf
and

Code: Select all

ifconfig
commands. This info will help ppl in diagnosing your problem.
