Raspberry won't boot into raspbian, only red light on

Tue Jul 07, 2015 9:16 am

I saw some posts about it but I couldn't find an answer..
I have a Raspberry Pi mode B, it was working great until I insert it into a car chassis that I'm building. The chassis is made of aluminium. I insert the Raspberry using the two holes it has to attach it to the base and when I tried to start it, it didn't turn on. I tried again and then it turned on the red led but only that one. I tried to load the sdcard to my computer and I saw it was completely erased and I even couldn't open it. (the sdcard was a 32gb sandisk sdhc class 4)
I bought a new sdcard (16gb sandisk sdhc class 10 40MB/s*) then tried again with the new one and all I see is the red light.
I tried not touching the Raspberry for a whole night (not connected to anything) and it's still not working.
My question is, is the new sdcard the problem or did I screwed up the Raspberry?
Thanks

If the underside of the RPi or any pins of the header came in contact with the aluminium chassis when powered up, even for a fraction of a second, your RPi is very probably dead.
