Is my Pi faulty?

Wed Jul 11, 2012 4:51 pm

Hi guys,

I bought two Raspberry Pi's (first one was from farnell and the latest from RS).

Been having problems with one of them (the one from RS) that I never encountered on the first. Using the same sd cards, methods and even trying new sd cards faults arise in different situations. Most recently in Debian Wheezy I have this problem:

Image (if poor quality try getting it direct from https://dl.dropbox.com/u/86352895/IMG_2 ... 163959.jpg)

This intermittently arises when trying to carry out tasks (i.e. expand_rootfs in debian wheezy raspi-config or when trying to apt-get update) and causes the system to freeze.

Can someone please confirm that this is a hardware fault (as I have no idea what any of it means!) and then I will try and get a replacement from RS?

Thanks in advance,

Max

I would guess that there's a hardware problem. Maybe a defective chip.

I tried everything and ended with doing an RMA, I suggest you do the same :)
