Pi2 and Edimax EW-7811Un Wifi USB adapter

Sat Mar 28, 2015 4:36 pm

I have setup my new Pi2 to run with ethernet. Then I connected my edimax wifi dongle (which works well with older pi's) on one of the usb ports. After a couple of minutes, the ethernet interface of the pi2 goes down and the wifi interface also is inaccessible.

I read in some forums that this may indicate a power supply problem. Although the supply I used is 5V 2A, I changed it with another one but with no success. The kernel I use is 3.18.10-v7+ #774 SMP PREEMPT Wed Mar 25 14:10:30 GMT 2015 armv7l GNU/Linux.

Any ideas what to do next??

Check your power supply. Check the flimsy wire between your power supply and your RPi2.

Do you get the strange rainbow square in the top right of the display?
