Re: NOOBS SD card partitions not detected in Linux

Just chiming in to echo that the offset method worked for me, when nothing else would:

Code: Select all

$ sudo fdisk -l /dev/mmcblk0

Disk /dev/mmcblk0: 15.7 GB, 15719727104 bytes
4 heads, 16 sectors/track, 479728 cylinders, total 30702592 sectors
Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x000bbe14

        Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/mmcblk0p1            2048      242187      120070    e  W95 FAT16 (LBA)
/dev/mmcblk0p2          245760    30637055    15195648   85  Linux extended
/dev/mmcblk0p3        30637056    30702591       32768   83  Linux
/dev/mmcblk0p5          253952      581631      163840    c  W95 FAT32 (LBA)
/dev/mmcblk0p6          589824    30636031    15023104   83  Linux

$ sudo mount /dev/mmcblk0 /media/dhbarr/mmc -o offset=$((589824*512))

$ mount | grep mmc
/dev/mmcblk0 on /media/dhbarr/mmc type ext4 (rw)

I had the same problem, and got a solution.

command "partprobe /dev/mmcblk0" did the trick.
